Professionally, I’ve travelled through a solar system with content as the sun. I began as a copywriter, then an online editor, then a manager of teams doing the same. I diverted into content strategies (starting with a whopper).
Then, back leading a web content team, I dove into content operations, realising that was how to make life better for my team, the business and users. Forming the relationships, installing the processes, methods and tools, creating the canvas for meaningful analysis and insight, and building a greater understanding of content across other teams.
Together, content ops, content design and content strategies should coalesce into something that really contributes to a high-performing organisation: a strong content culture. It’s a beautiful thing.
I highly recommend working with Craig Melcher for his expertise in content design and content strategy. He articulated global ways of working for our organisation, working closely with teams and experts across the organisation to interview and gather insights, which he used to compose a comprehensive digital playbook for all product teams.
This resource has been invaluable in ensuring we have a consistent approach to content creation, product development and performance management across all of our products.
His leadership has helped to shift the content culture within Shelter to prioritise insight driven development, content quality, business value and user-centricity. I am confident he would be an invaluable asset to any team looking to elevate their content design and strategy.

Personal
I grew up in Denver, and peripatetically I’ve lived in Iowa, Dallas, Chicago, Wellington NZ, and now London. My mum’s a Somerset girl so I’ve always had a connection here.
I enjoying making a beautiful mess in the kitchen, and have the weight gain to show for it (although I place the entire blame on the NYT cooking app).
I like walking the quirky streets of London, especially guided by London Walks, and also love trekking the UK’s peaks. Especially the Lake District. Views of a lifetime, even for a Colorado guy.
Last year I became a cat dad, to Clementine. It’s been transformative, opening me up to athleticism and grace, hunting and stealth, a daily range of conversation types, and the unbridled joy of lasers (especially the evil red butterfly) and birds on wands.
